MASONIC ISLAND is situated in Lake Metigoshe in the beautiful Turtle Mountains, between the borders of Manitoba and North Dakota. It covers 7.2 acres, and has been the site of international Masonic gatherings since 1906. At the initial meeting, three candidates were raised before an assembly of 75 Masons.

The tree covered island has an open-air temple at it’s centre, with the principal officers’ chairs, pedestals and altar being constructed of native fieldstone and mortar.
